Welcome to Folk-Rock at its finest. Creative 6-piece The Deadly Winters play some of the freshest, original and story-based music on the scene today. Completely immersive listening from the first few seconds and an onstage presence that demands attention!
With well-constructed melodies and lovingly crafted stories, The Deadly Winters are a part folk-rock, part Americana creative outfit. They bring you tales of sorrow, love, debauchery and murder… in a very catchy, foot-tapping way.
The band returned in 2023 with a reworking of the traditional folk song The Cuckoo, named BBC Radio Scotland’s Travelling Folk BBC Introducing Song of the Week in July that year. In November, they released the mini-album ‘ever onwards’, a triumphant celebration of nature, emotion and the raucous joy of life.
The Deadly Winters have earned airplay on BBC Radio Scotland, appeared on Mike Harding’s Folk Show, shared stages with artists including Dougie MacLean and The Staves and performed at Celtic Connections, Perthshire Amber, Killin Music Festival, The Royal Highland Show, Bannockburn Live and the Edinburgh Fringe.
Balancing beauty and grit, sentiment and celebration, The Deadly Winters place storytelling at the heart of everything they do. Get in touch to book the band.
